| | Jaimie Buelens
Jaimie Buelens was born on the 27th of January 1988 in Mechelen-Belgium, where she still lives. She studies Teacher Secondary Education in GroupT in Leuven. She is the current number 2 of Belgium. Her average is between the 0,500 and 0,600.
1. How did you start with Billiard and how long do you play?
I play billiards for 5 or 6 years now. I learned it from my father and brother. I play since I was 14, but then I only played free game. After a few years I started to play 3cushion and I already played many good results.
2. You won the Belgium title ones, a few times you came in second. What is your goal this year and where will it stop for you?
My goal is to win the National titel back in January 2012. I also want to play a general average of 0,600 in the Belgium League, over a whole season. I would also like to participate in the International tournaments and bring my general average a little bit up. Now I play between the 0,500 and 0,600, but I want to play between the 0,800 and 0,950. It is possible, but I still study, so that doesn't make it easy. I am at a school, where they give me some extra free time so I can practise. I also try to practise as much as I can at home, but my study is more important. I have a personal coach for a year now, who gives me practise a few hours a month. In a while, I will get more practise, but now this is all what is possible with my study.
3. With which player can you compare yourself, if you look at you game?
I can't compare myself with any player I think, because I had different coaches and I learned from them all. If I have to choose, I compare myself with a 'little' Therese Klompenhouwer, only with a lower average. If I look at style, I think anyone has his or her own kind of playing.
4. Who is you biggest example in Billiards?
I have different examples, because there are so many great players. If I look at the women, it is Therese Klompenhouwer, because she is one of the best female players in the world. With the men I prefer Frédéric Caudron, Eddy Merckx and Jef Philiphoom.
5. What is your best result until now?
Champion of Belgium ladies in 2008 and 7th at the European Championship in 2011. But I would really like to win back the National title in 2012 and a top 3 rank at the next European Championship.
